Hosting and access data #

This website is published as a static website through GitHub Pages. GitHub expressly states that, when a GitHub Pages site is visited, the visitor’s IP address is logged and stored for security purposes, regardless of whether the visitor is signed in to GitHub. Other technically necessary connection and usage data may also be processed, including the date and time of access, requested URL, referrer, and information about the device and browser used.

The processing serves to provide, maintain, and secure the website. The legal basis for processing by me is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website. According to its own information, GitHub acts as the controller for its services. GitHub’s documentation applicable to GitHub Pages does not specify a concrete retention period for GitHub Pages access logs. If you contact me by email or telephone, I process the information you provide solely to handle your request and communicate with you about it. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR; if your request concerns entering into or performing a contract, Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR also applies.

I delete the request as soon as it is no longer needed for communication, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
